From time to time, for certain applications, you need the ability to connect two instruments to an amplifier at once. You might think you could simply use a Y-cable?! Unfortunately, that only works with limitations! For example, if you connect two guitars to an amplifier using a Y-cable, changing the potentiometer setting on the first guitar will also change the setting on the second guitar. This small and simple passive circuit prevents that. Connect your instruments to the two input jacks and connect your amplifier to the output jack. Now you can use both instruments as normal and use the two volume control potentiometers on the mixer/summer box to mix the volume of the instruments relative to each other. Simple, right? And it works completely without a power supply or batteries!
